A SUNLIT PLAYROOM
We were over the moon to see our Blommor mormor pillow, "Character Pile", and "Happy" prints in this beautiful Williamsburg playroom! We interviewed mama and HeyMama Co-Founder, Amri Kibbler, to hear a little more about the inspiration behind this gorgeous playroom for her 2 little girls.
How old are your girls?
Mari is 5 and River turns one this month!
What were some of your priorities when decorating this playroom?
I wanted it to be a room that's comfy for both kids and adults to hang out in. I love curling up on the day bed while the girls play. Storage was a big thing so we have lots of cabinets so things can be scooped into baskets and stashed away. Having a great work/art desk was also important. Mari loves to make things and so do I. We spent lots of time crafting on the table and I love it's roll of art paper on the end!
What are your favorite things about this room?
That's hard, it's kind of my favorite spot in the house. The light is amazing and there's a giant tree outside the window that makes it feel like we're in the country and not Brooklyn. I based the color palette around the Natti Natti prints as they are just the right amount of playful and I fell in love with them before I started decorating. I like to base colors off one thing that strikes me and build from there and these really inspired the decor.
The chalkboard wall is also a fave and really helpful on a rainy day and when playing school. Who can resist writing on the wall!?
